The Energy, Natural Resources and Environment Committee NBA-SBL has been mandated to cover the energy, natural resources and environment sectors of legal practice. It has been established to become the leading forum for discussion, learning and policy within the identified sectors.

The Committee provides an opportunity for lawyers to contribute to the analysis of relevant issues affecting the sector within Nigeria and globally to elevate the standard of the practice to its apex.

Through the SBL, the Committee upholds the continuing legal education mandate of the Nigerian Bar Association by organising training sessions, talks, studies and publications. It also encourages participation in the deliberation, drafting and enactment of legislation and policy pertaining to legal practice's energy, natural resources and environment sectors, where appropriate. The overarching objective of the Committee is to encourage the delivery of qualitative legal services to the public.
